One of the new features of Windows XP and in Windows Server 2003 is the error reporting feature that offers to send diagnostic information to Microsoft whenever an application or part of the system crashes. There are a number of reasons why you may want to reduce or turn this feature off, particularly if your computer is not connected to the Internet. You can choose to disable the reporting completely, or you can limit it to just the operating system errors or, just errors from certain programs of your choosing. To turn off the Error Reporting feature in Windows Server 2003 do the following:
1. Click on the Start button and select 'Settings' then 'Control Panel'
2. Double-click on the 'System' icon and select the 'Advanced' tab
3. Click on the Error Reporting button
4. Click on the 'Disable Error Reporting' box and select 'But Notify
